The encaustic medium is magical, vibrant and translucent.  My creative muse guides, inspires and feeds my soul through this medium, mixed media and collage.  Blessing me with endless moments of creative joy and harmony...providing those ahhaa moments about life.  Join me on this creative journey, spend some time reading my musings about this life, the blessed other souls that come into contact with mine, however brief or often, that can leave everlasting imprints on our journey....perhaps our lives might share some similarities, bringing us closer and more connected...and less isolated.

"I suppose there is one friend in the life of each of us who seems not a separate person, however dear and beloved, but an expansion, an interpretation, of one's self, the very meaning of one's soul." ~ Edith Wharton

Here's to finding those expansive moments.....

Quiet Moments and Sweet Pleasures

Early morning walk around the garden.  Soaking up the cool air and nature's treasures...these moments are precious and fill the spirit with joy and inspiration.  I can often get caught up with all

the things that need to be done, the endless lists, the deadlines fast approaching or even yet deadlines that are well past gone...forgetting to slow down and smell the fresh air of the country, hear the birdsong, and the soft cooing of the morning doves...today the skies are crystal blue, the sun is getting ready to shine and cover our world with its healing glow.  I am choosing to take the time to be still,
absorb this quiet moment and sweet pleasures and to feel inspired by the magic of mother nature's creations.

"All you need is deep within you waiting to unfold and reveal itself.  All you have to do is be still and take time to seek what is within, and you will surely find it." quote from Eileen Cady.

One Door Closes - Another Opens

Transition - One Door Closes another Opens...so long as we remain open, taking in all that is there around us, it is there waiting for us to step through and embrace this glorious change....Yes I know that change doesn't always seem glorious...it can be down right scary, FEAR can be daunting and immobilizing ....some how, some way I pushed through to the other side, through that door ...and I did feel and see the love, light and joy.....my art, is the 'calling' and as Tama Kieves wrote herself, "We are crowned when we are called"...from, 2006 Tama J. Kieves -  This Time I Dance - Creating the Work you Love.  During the time I created this piece " One Door Closes" September 2007, I was going through that transition from 16 years of social work practice, community development and coordination to a new calling, direction into art creating and sharing, teaching ....This book This Time I Dance - Creating the Work you Love, bounded off the table, in a manner of speaking, at me in my meandering through a local bookstore here in Fergus, ON. ...I wasn't particularly looking for anything, not really, I suppose, but the Universe knew better, I needed to read this book...so I bought it and couldn't believe how it resonated.  Here was another womyn seeking more, seeking her calling and her story is one of a New York Lawyer leaving her job, this Harvard Graduate Lawyer, seeking a future in writing....in speaking to others about finding the work you love, your passion .....It was her voice, her book that gave me the courage to make this bold move, my loving and supportive partner and my inner voice...the power within in.  These were the forces at play that created this beginning of the new beginning, journey.

THE WORLD OF BLOGGING ARTFULLY!

Well what is blogging and doing it artfully at that?

I have begun this new process with the intent to share with you this journey of creating an artistic life, awakening the artful, creative side and sharing the passion that feeds my soul with others.

This journey has already been filled with many learning moments...much joy and constant reflection.

My background is in community development, social work and for 16 years I have worked with many wonderful communities, individuals and found great satisfaction and joy in this work...today I like to marry the two, my interest in communities with my passion for creativity and art...as together they can truly provide great transformational healing and blessings.

Hope you will join me from time to time to see what I am musing about and what are some of the creations that are being inspired from my reflections.
