How do you know when a piece of art work is done? What are some things you do to know..?

I know sometimes I live with the work for a while, keep it somewhere I can view it often, and sometimes it becomes obvious what might be missing, or what might be needed...

Other times just putting it away and then coming back to it with 'fresh' eyes helps...

I would love to hear back from other artists on how they decide when a work is done or not....

Well the hard work of painting endlessly for the last few months has come to its birthing day...the opening of my first solo show, "Endless Longing" began today, Monday Nov. 2nd and will come down on Nov. 28th. The opening reception is this Sat. Nov. 7th 1:30 to 4:00 p.m. at the Whitestone Gallery, 80 Norfolk St. Guelph. Hope to see you there....

I thoroughly enjoyed this process and loved creating with the imagery of women and butterflies and weaving in Rumi's poetry. I share a few of the images here for you...Overall I was able to finish 14 new pieces and am showing 22 pieces all together.

Two Holiday Shows - Come Visit & See Some New Art Work

A variety of small works and larger works will be available at the Globe Studio Show at the end of the month.  Opening reception Friday Nov. 28th 5 - 8 p.m.  The first 25 customers at this show to visit and purchase something special from my booth will receive 10 % off the highest ticketed item purchased.

The second show I would like to highlight, is the exciting artist collective I've joined at Whitestone Gallery in Guelph.  For the month of December from Dec. 4- 24th over 100 small works from over 14 artists and potters will be available for sale, to delight, tantalize and inspire....You are bound to find a treasure for a special person on your list and/or a treat for yourself...All works will be for $100 or under.  Opening reception Friday Dec. 5th 5 - 8 p.m.
