This piece provided me with great joy in the process of 'birthing' it...the piece is about loving oneself deeply and unconditionally. It is also about my reflections on relationships, their significance, the role of 'marriage' in the traditional sense vs. non-traditional, the wondering about 'expectations' and letting go of all that is 'expected' but following your own heart's desire and creating your own notion of marriage, relationships and love.
I will be away from the online world for one week at a silent week long meditation and creativity retreat...at a beautiful location called Dunedin, Creemore, Ontario. I am not taking anything except myself, art supplies, meditation equipment...I am wondering about taking my camera....if I do I will share visual images for later when I return.
Wishing you all creativity and joy in abundance.
Shanti.

Oh I envy you...in a good way. And thanks for sharing the photos of your show with your brother. I've been checking out his work and it's nice to see the two of you showing together. Very complimentary.
Your new work flows so beautifully and the words that you've said -following your own heart's desire - are so perfect.
Enjoy your wondrous retreat- and I look forward to your return- filled with continued amazing creativity and magical expressions through your artwork.
I say take the camera, in silence you will be in an altered state and I think you might be wowed by what you see anew! Have a great retreat Supria!
I hope you find peace and enjoy your time with yourself.

"To Thine Own Self be True" - I needed to hear this right now, funny how messages come just when they are needed. Its as if this message was meant for me, affirming an action I just took.
Im intrigued about 'dipped paper' will have to read on... :)
Everything you do is filled with magic and a sense of peace...and I love it. It's great to see the pictures of you and your brother and the work together - isn't family lovely? And, by the way, read all the books on your Shelfari, too, and loved them all - surprised by The Time Traveller's Wife, I think it's one of my favorites and have been recommending it to everyone.
Your style has an antique and earthy feel to it, and the combination of elements works to fascinate the eyes and keep your viewers looking. It's like opening an old chest of memories, filled with lots of wonderful memories of years gone by. Wonderful works of art.
Food for thought!
