The encaustic medium is magical, vibrant and translucent.  My creative muse guides, inspires and feeds my soul through this medium, mixed media and collage.  Blessing me with endless moments of creative joy and harmony...providing those ahhaa moments about life.  Join me on this creative journey, spend some time reading my musings about this life, the blessed other souls that come into contact with mine, however brief or often, that can leave everlasting imprints on our journey....perhaps our lives might share some similarities, bringing us closer and more connected...and less isolated.

"I suppose there is one friend in the life of each of us who seems not a separate person, however dear and beloved, but an expansion, an interpretation, of one's self, the very meaning of one's soul." ~ Edith Wharton

Here's to finding those expansive moments.....

Honouring My Creative Muse!

6 x 6 Encaustic Mixed Media Collage Shrine Piece
for my creative muse. - Sold recently at the Alma Gallery.

Recently my work was picked up by this great new gallery in to
wn, Guelph.....called the Alma Gallery...they picked up thirteen of my pieces for the "I Heart Art" Show...for which I felt very grateful and delighted...In two weeks I have sold 9 pieces or so, one of which is this shrine piece I did for my creative muse a long while back....It was hard letting this one go, but due to the interest in this piece and the timing all felt right to let her go to give blessings to another soul...

I have since recreated another one with the energies of my current life, hopes, wishes, thanks and joys...So in honour of my love, gratitude and blessings for my inspiring creative muse I created a new shrine piece, called  "Divinely Inspired - Love ART".....I have placed her in her spot above my work station...where I view her every day and let her guide my creations....

"Divinely Inspired - Love ART X" 2009

Supria, they are both gorgeous! You do the most awesome work and it entrances me every single time. I've never done a shrine but you have me wanting to dig into my psyche and see what surfaces. You also have me wanting to learn more about encaustics and using beeswax to seal my pieces...it gives your work such an ethereal quality that just moves me.
Peace & Love,
~Barb~
