The encaustic medium is magical, vibrant and translucent.  My creative muse guides, inspires and feeds my soul through this medium, mixed media and collage.  Blessing me with endless moments of creative joy and harmony...providing those ahhaa moments about life.  Join me on this creative journey, spend some time reading my musings about this life, the blessed other souls that come into contact with mine, however brief or often, that can leave everlasting imprints on our journey....perhaps our lives might share some similarities, bringing us closer and more connected...and less isolated.

"I suppose there is one friend in the life of each of us who seems not a separate person, however dear and beloved, but an expansion, an interpretation, of one's self, the very meaning of one's soul." ~ Edith Wharton

Here's to finding those expansive moments.....

Beecause...a GREAT CAUSE..buzz on over and check it out!

"Thou Seemst Like a Deity", 2009 - Encaustic Mixed Media Collage, 30 x 24

Beecause, is a great cause and event to support.  Beecause cares about the arts and about saving the honeybees.  Artists from across Canada are invited to submit artwork for a juried exhibition and auction.  All submitted artwork must be inspired by Honey, in all its forms.  From beeswax to honeycombs, and queen bees to killer bees, anything to related to Honey is encouraged.  Any media is acceptable from photography, to painting, drawing to sculpture and mixed media.

The funds raised will go to support the Arts Project, London, Ontario's arts incubator, and the Canadian Bee Research Fund, a Canadian research initiative focused on the disappearance of honeybees.  If you would like to submit work for this show, event and auction check out the call for submissions - here, deadline is June 30, 2009.

I have submitted this piece for the cause.

Great painting Supria. What a wonderful new way to express the Birds and the Bees :) - with a butterfly and other animal life and flowers in between. I'd like to think that the woman carrying the flowers is the Queen Bee of them all!
