Giveway for the Holidays

"Living the Creative Life" by Rice Freeman-Zachery is an amazingly inspiring book.  For all of those who love living creatively it is a treasure source.

I am doing another free giveaway, why:
- well it is my 101 blog post
- it is Holiday Celebration time
- it is a joy for me to give and so for the holiday season which is upon us and the fact that I have received such joy and community from blogging...I am giving a brand new copy of this book away.

All you have to do is make a comment on my blog, letting me know what you love about the holidays..what special tradition do you celebrate each year with your loved ones, friends and family, adopted family, pets, etc.  This draw will end Dec. 12th..so blog post a comment any time from today onwards until then.

Looking forward to hearing about your lovely holiday traditions.

My favorite tradition in our family is singing Christmas carols gathered around my father playing the piano. Then we would have Christmas cookies and boiled custard - yummy!

I love the time off to spend as I like, which includes alone-time, grandchildren-time, and dog- & cat- & turtle-time.

I jumped over here from Ricë's blog! I love spending holidays with the family - that is definitely what it is about to me. Eating wonderful food together, having fun together, giving to each other. It is the highlight of my year. People complain about Christmas, but I wish they would just let it all go and let the feeling flow in!!!

I found you through Ricë and, like I told her, I've been banned from buying anything before Christmas...but no one said I can't win anything. LOL

My favorite part of the holidays is the family and togetherness. We play games and cook & eat good foods and laugh and share memories...I love the togetherness. I love the food, too...how can you not love the food.

One of my favorite traditions is the stockings for our family. Everyone has their own special stocking and I pick up things through the year to fill them with, just little goodies, and since my girls have gotten older they do the same for me. It's such a fun way to give little goodies to each other without breaking the bank. Always some giggles to be had by the adults and fun little things for the kids. When a new member is added to the family (birth or marriage) it is a joy for me to create the new stocking for our mantle.

Happy Holidays and
Peace & Love,
~Barb~

My favorite thing about the holidays are the Christmas cards. when people slow down and take time to write some notes in them,. I love even the "canned" letters. We have come creative friends. I try to send one out every yr too. I'd love a change at winning Rice's book.

Rice sent me here! I love the holidays! One tradition that my husband and I started is a tree trimming party. We invite friends (only my sister lives in the area) and hang up all the ornaments. Last year we made gingerbread houses too.

My life seems to make one dramatic change after another--so much so, that I often use "in one of my past lives" instead of "a few years ago." Things which were "tradition" have shifted and other things took their place--by the same tokan, my main holiday focus has shifted from time to time. The only true constant is LOVE. I enjoy spreading love and cheer. There are family birthdays intertwined with the winter holidays. This makes a good blending place for creating handmade gifts, often with touches of family vintage items--things that make everyone feel warm and fuzzy inside!!
What a wonderful book for your give-away!! Rice is very talanted and brings out creative juices in everyone. She said in her blog to tell you Hi and Thanks!!

Hi Supria,
There's something very special about writing out holiday cards that's so connecting for me. While we're all so busy, it's one of those special designated times in the year when I can sit quitely and reflect on the most important people in my life and share my thoughts with them. I love that the holiday time seems to bring out the softness in people that's so often hidden during the year. Jill

I LOVE Christmas. We have one of those villages you set up and decorate the house like crazy. Every year since my daughter was born I have been making her an ornament. She is now in college and this year will be the 20th ornament I will be sewing for her. I can't believe that I have been doing this for so long. I would love to win this book.

What a great idea Supria. Please don't put my name in for the giveaway, I have this wonderful book and just wanted to let everyone know that it's great!!! Good luck to all who enter.

Hello, my name is Nellie. One of the traditions we have had for many years is the sister picture. My older sister lives in Alabama and my younger sister and I only see her on Christmas so we all know that sometime during that week that she is here, we have to take our customery sister picture. It's something great to look forward to and it cements our bond. I love it!!! Thanks for this giveaway, I hope I win!

My favorite thing about the holiday is just being with the family in a more friendly enviroment - it's like when it's christmas we're reminded (with the gifts and all) how much we like each other! I love that! :-)

Would love to win the book, please come check my blog out too!

Love your site and your work. I "dabble" in encaustics occasionally.

Sorry I missed out on your altered book round robin. I just finished up a two year collaboration with 15 artists.
